Standard Half Day Tailored Past, Present, & Future Tour Schedule (4 hours)

Collect you from location of your choice in private vehicle.

Drive to Bund. On the way your guide will give you an overview of Shanghai’s colonial history, and foundation of Shanghai.

Walk the Bund, become introduced to these remarkable colonial buildings and their modern occupants. Through our stories hear about the Bund’s 150 year reign of financial power and political intrigue.

Cross the Huangpu. Viiew this remarkably busy river

Arrive at Shanghai’s Professional Collectors Antiques Market, which is where the local experts do their trade. This place sells everything from jade and soapstone carvings through to furniture, ancient bronzes, paintings and calligraphy. Whilst here, we can look at mammoth tusk carvings, ancient bronze mirrors and a special shop that specialises solely in selling wonderfully fragrant wood.

Visit a small Art Deco Furniture Shop specialising in 1930s Art Deco furniture collected from Shanghai’s old colonial houses, this shop is a great place to pick up unique pieces of furniture for your house at very reasonable prices.

Drive back to a finishing point of your choosing. On the way there you can ask any questions you may still have and we will make notes about any additional information you would like us to send you following up on the tour.

Art Deco Lunch (1.5 - 2 hours)

Drive to a beautiful 1930’s hotel and enjoy a Chinese lunch surrounded by Art Deco splendour. Whilst there we will not only tell you about the history of the building and its iconic director but will also tell you about some of historical artifacts and antiques on display in and around the restaurant.
